PlayStation Network 8001050F error

The ApocolyPS3 is here!!

It was caused by the clock on the PS3 (this bug didn't affect slim PS3's)

The clock got to the end of February and calculated that 2010 was a leap year, since it wasn't this caused the clock to set the date back to 1/1/2000 or such.

This caused problems for any PS3 that was connected to the internet, as the trophy register didn't like the date change. You also couldn't log into the PSN or use the "update time & date via internet" as it gave the same error - however you could browse the internet using the browser.

The problem corrected itself after 24 hours had passed and the date could move on correctly (no matter how much Sony may have said it will be fixed within 24hours this is not a fix simply a natural passing of the leap day and is not a fix or even fixed - no idea if Sony will fix this with a firmware update)

Problem 1: Any games you tried to play that caused this error will have lost it's trophies registered on your machine.

Solution 1: To correct this simply pop in those games so they can install their trophy list, though they will show 0% complete. Then re-sync your trophies and it'll download from the PSN your unlock list which will then unlock those trophies.

Problem 2a: If you didn't sync before this problem, those trophies are lost and you will need to redo them.

Problem 2b: Sometimes trophies won't unlock again as the on-line register thinks you've unlocked them (they were told so while you were playing the game) but you're local machine doesn't know this so when you fulfil the conditions your machine looks at your on-line list and sees it as done so won't unlock it locally.

Solution 2: Took me a while but the best solution is to play it off-line (unplug the wireless router/modem or cable) and play so that the trophy register on your machine doesn't look on-line to validate - this will allow your machine to unlock those trophies. Then just re-sync.

This'll probably annoy a lot of Sony Fanboys but I found a great link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CJ9Q8bG-0s
